Joshua Graham

Over the past 25+ years in tech, I've delivered over 50 technical projects, more than 30 of those software development and I've helped over a dozen startups deliver their products.I've always been a fan of using tech to solve problems and years of doing that has left me with a wide range of experience and the ability and desire to share that experience with others.

Some projects I've delivered

States of Guernsey

I’ve built and run the team that’s automating processing of personal and corporate taxes for the States of Guernsey. While working with a number of suppliers, I created an atmosphere of genuine desire to help, leading to praise and recommendations from competing vendors. That's something I'm pretty proud of.Your reputation isn't what you say about yourself. It's what others say about you, particularly when it's not necessarily in their best interest to do so.

Form Engine was built to support Optimise customers that need to process forms filled in by hand. I designed and developed the product to enable nearly instant processing of hand-written forms using AI.It merges speed with accuracy to allow for end-to-end automation of forms that have historically been costly and time consuming to process.

Decisionable is a low-code platform I've been building that enables business users to make changes to their customer eligibility criteria faster and it's as ludicrously easy as updating a table.

I started working with Brickflow from the inception stage. I was responsible for designing and building the initial platform as well as training and managing the team of developers who have carried on making it the go-to place for property development loan sourcing.

I was brought in to up-skill and mentor TISE developers and make technical decisions to help bring their 10+ year old platform up to date.I was responsible for the creation of their customer facing portal and their core API as well as the automation of their member onboarding process.

I acted as CTO for AllEyes, helping them build prototypes for ASOS and Debenhams to utilise street photography and social media influencers to identify and predict fashion trends. We also joined Long Island University to mentor fashion and machine learning students in a joint trend forecasting project.

EWC - Community Platform

A browser-based community platform that I ran and built. (Think Slack in a browser.) There was a lot of dev history to this project as it evolved with the web, from a Java applet to Flash to Javascript and WebSockets. The EveryWhereChat apps were used by millions of users and stood the test of time. It hosted the official Blink 182 chat and even had a guest appearance from Freddy Krueger (actor Robert Englund).

More organisations I've helped

I've been hands on in the design and development of a variety of projects for companies ranging from startups to the likes of 3M.My responsibilities have covered technical architecture, database design and building software in Java, C#, Python, Javascript/Typescript, C++, PHP, Perl, Visual Basic, Angular, Vue, React and React Native and a whole lot more. This list isn't meant to be a brag. I've just had a lot of time to learn a lot of things.I've got the technical background to lead technical teams and help them deliver.

There’s more to a person than just their professional experience. So here are some other things about me that might be interesting.I’m an American who’s been living in the UK for most of my adult life. I’m currently living in rural Scotland where I enjoy photography (which I’m not terrible at, if I do say so myself, but I'll let you check my Instagram link to make your own decision), hanging out with my family, fixing up a Georgian era farmhouse and feeding the chickens. I’m a big fan of keeping things simple.
